HelpAge International (HAI) is a global network of not-for-profit organisations with a mission to work with and for disadvantaged older people worldwide to achieve a lasting improvement in the quality of their lives. In China, HAI works closely with the China National Committee on Ageing (CNCA), its partner for implementing a project funded by UNFPA. The project aims to strengthen the capacity of county governments and community institutions to promote healthy and active ageing and to sensitize government to issues related to ageing.
HelpAge International is recruiting a Project Officer to be based in Beijing with travel to other provinces as required. The salary is negotiable depending on the candidate¡¯s qualifications and experience. Under guidance of HAI¡¯s Regional Programme Manager, the Project Officer will primarily assist CNCA to implement project activities, particularly guiding and training project counties in implementing action plans on ageing and supporting project planning, monitoring and reporting.
Applicants must have the following essential qualifications:
• Qualified with a relevant university degree
• At least 3 years¡¯ professional experience relevant to the project¡¯s activities
• Participatory training and workshop facilitation experience
• Excellent analytical, planning and activity management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English
• Demonstrable report writing skills in clear English
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiating, presentational and networking skills
• Strong training, coaching and facilitation skills
• Knowledge of producing clear work plans and budgets
• Diplomacy, sensitivity, and intercultural communications abilities
• Strong IT user skills
• Demonstrable positive experience working in collaborative teams
