CNCA and HelpAge International Workshop 2008 held in Beijing
The ¡°Grassroot Organizations on Ageing and Community-based Poverty Reduction Workshop¡±, jointly organized by CNCA and HAI, was taken place on November 18, 2008 in Beijing. Chen Chuanshu, the standing vice president of CNCA, presented at the meeting and gave an opening address. Cao Bingliang, the vice president of CNCA, hosted the opening ceremony.
This workshop was one of the 2008 yearly projects of cooperation specialized funds in Asia/Pacific region. There were total 40 delegates presented at the meeting, including officials on ageing, representatives of NGO on ageing from 12 Asian countries, including Bengal, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Korea, Burma, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, and China, and also the members of HAI, experts of UNFPA, etc.
The attending representatives would investigate poverty relief and community-based services work in Shaanxi and Shanghai after the Beijing workshop.
