On November 8th to 9th, Yan Qingchun, the vice president of CNCA, investigated and guided ageing work in Huizhou City, Guangdong Porvince, and was received by local governors.
Yang Peican, the vice mayor and director of municipal ageing committee, introduced the economical and social development and ageing work of Huizhou. The Huizhou government had been attaching great importance on ageing work, including taking all means of measures; making many of preferential policies; etc. in order to continually develop the ageing work with the line of social development. Later, Li Huili, the office director of municipal ageing committee, reported Huizhou¡¯s ageing work in recent 6 months to Yan Qingchun.
Yan affirmed the achievement of Huizhou¡¯s age work. He thought that the ageing work had been implemented effectively with its own features, especially the innovative model of ¡°the three stresses¡±: ¡°rural stress is association; urban stress is community; municipal stress is organ¡±. Besides, a series of preferential policies for the aged were implemented, including free bus for the 65 and above; free to visit parks and tourist resources; first to be received in hospital; senior subsidies for the 90-year-old eldelry and so on, which had set up a pioneer example for the rest of the nation. Yan also emphasized that, it was important to develop social service for the aged; establish the system of ageing-in-place as the foundation, community service as the support, and nursing home as the supplement so as to make more elderly people enjoy more profits.
On November 9th, Yan went to visit the Changhuyuan Community of Huicheng District. He learned the operation situation of local old people¡¯s association. During the investigation, Yan also went to Huidong and Longmen County, and gave high evaluation on the ageing work and experience promotion work made by the two places.
